The starting point was the 2000 places of pi as found here http://www-gap.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~history/HistTopics/2000_places.html

I assigned each number a time value equal to a tenth of a second (ie 3=0.3 sec). 

From here I used samples from my feedback mixer (being circular in nature) chopped up the samples according to size in Sound Forge. The samples were then arranged according to the number sequence of pi found on the website until the correct time was reached then effected with various plug-ins via cubase.
